BEDLAM AEROSOL SPRAY
Bedlam Aerosol Insecticide is a residual aerosol spray specially designed to control bed bugs, lice, ticks, fleas, and dust mites on contact. Bedlam Aerosol Insecticide may be used as for crack and crevice treatment and on and around baseboards, floorboards, headboards, and walls. This product is water-based and non-irritating, and so it can used to spot treat bedding and mattreses when controlling bed bugs. In addition, the product will not stain water-safe fabrics and surfaces. Bedlam is labeled for use in homes, apartments, schools, hotels and healthcare facilities.
HOW TO GET RID OF BED BUGS
Step 1: Conduct a thorough inspection of the mattress focusing on seams, buttons, zips and labels. Also check the bed frame or ensemble base focusing on cracks and crevices, bed legs, joins between timber slats, bed heads, etc. Bed bugs may also be found in bedside furniture, picture frames, walls, electrical sockets, carpet edges, curtains, etc. Look for live insects, skin casts, eggs and 'spotting'. Spotting is the faecal traces (i.e. digested blood) of bed bugs. It is most commonly seen as a series of black spots 0.5mm - 1mm in diameter.
Step 2: Once you have identified that you have bed bugs it is recommended that you carry out a thorough vacuum of all the areas idetified above. This will remove live bed bugs and their eggs from these areas. Make sure you dispose of the contents of the vacuum cleaner immediately to prevent spreadung the infestation to other areas.
Step 3: Treat affected areas using the Bedlam aerosol. Again focus on areas where you have seen live insects, eggs, skin casts and spotting. Pay particular attention to cracks and crevices.
Step 4: Now you can apply the Protect-Us Insecticidal Dust powder as a light dusting. As above, apply Protect-Us Insecticidal Dust to all the same areas where bed bug activity has been seen. You can also apply the Protect-Us Insecticidal Dust as a preventative treatment by dusting around carpet edges, around the base of bed legs, etc. Do not apply directly to mattress or bedding.
Step 5: Placing the monitors. Place one monitor at each corner of the bed between mattress and base. Check the monitors for bed bug activity every few days. If you see bed bugs in the monitor then more treatment may be necessary.
Step 6: Finally, we highly suggest you consider mattress and base protectors to complete the treatment. What these do is capture any bed bugs that may still be infesting the mattress or base and prevent them from escaping and biting you or your guests. They also protect against future infestation by removing potential harbourages that new bed bugs may seek out. As a result you can essentially isolate the mattress and base therefore rule out any chance of these being the source of the problem. Also mattress and base protectors are a much cheaper alternative to throwing out your existing bed and replacing with a brand new one!!
